People don't usually know that letters have a lot of things to them. But these little words are very complex, with many diffrent words naming the curves and dots. Like with this font the "tails" on the ends and tops of words are called serifs, and the top of the capitol letters are called the caps line and the top of lower case letters is the x-height.
